Klein – Ouroboros

Small can be great

A visual identity and book design for a book publisher. Klein specializes in books at the intersection of art and literature. They publish only 2 books a year and are one of the smallest publishers of Belgium. The name Klein translates to ‘small’.

Commissioned by: Funcke & Co

The logo is a handwritten workmark that can be used in unexpected ways. It aims for impact, either by being plastered big across the paper, or placed small in a corner.

The first book by Klein was ‘Ouroboros, Odyssee 2.0’, for which we also did the design. This book picks up the story where Odyssey ends. It’s written by Paul Claes with original illustrations by Koenraad Tinel.

For the launch of the book, promotional posters were made, and an A5 brochure for book stores.
